The Complete Panchgani Travel Guide
Panchgani sits at an altitude of around 1,334 metres above sea level in the Western Ghats, about 285 km from Mumbai and 100 km from Pune. Its name literally means "five villages" — referring to the five hills surrounding it.
Best Time to Visit
The ideal time is October to March, when the weather is pleasantly cool. Monsoon (June–September) brings lush greenery and dramatic cloud views, though some roads can be challenging. Summer (March–May) is popular with families escaping the heat of Mumbai and Pune.
