What It Feels Like to Swim in an Infinity Pool Above Dhom Dam
There's a moment. You step into the water and the edge disappears. The pool water and the Dhom Reservoir below seem to become one — a seamless expanse of blue stretching all the way to the horizon.
This is what swimming in our infinity pool at Paramount's Vinayaka Homestay feels like. It's not just swimming. It's floating above the valley, above the world, in a kind of suspended calm that you don't often find.
The View Changes Everything
We've had guests who were initially reluctant to use the pool — maybe it was too cold, or they were tired from the drive up. But every single one of them ended up spending hours in the water once they saw the view. It does that to you.
The Dhom Dam (also called Dhom Reservoir) is visible from the pool in its full 180° panorama. At sunrise, the water catches the first light and turns gold. At midday, it gleams in a deep, piercing blue. And at dusk, when the sky turns rose and amber, the pool reflects it all back at you like a mirror.
When to Go in
Our favourite time? Early morning. The air is cool, the valley is still, and the sunrise over the hills is something you'll remember for years. Pack a cup of chai to the pool edge, ease into the water, and just sit there for a while. There's nothing to do and nowhere to be.
Evenings are magical too. The golden hour light and the purple hills make every dip feel cinematic.
